I am the associate editor of DCist.com, a website covering all aspects of news and culture in the nation’s capital.
Previously, I was a regular contributor to Washington City Paper, reporting on the theater business, local film productions, emerging musicians, and local and federal budget processes. In April 2011 I began contributing to The New York Times T Magazine. I have previously written for The Boston Globe and The Atlantic Monthly. I have also been a freelance copy editor at Congressional Quarterly, a daily newspaper and weekly magazine read by Washington’s policy makers and other powerful types.
I have also worked in politics, most recently for the Alliance for Climate Protection as Pennsylvania Communications Director, serving as a media strategist and spokesman for a major environmental policy campaign, a position I held from August 2009 to December 2010. I also worked on the communications team for the 2008 presidential campaign of Barack Obama.
